Obituary of Verna Montgomery

Verna Lee Montgomery, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, was called home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Verna was born January 31, 1932 to Clarence and Bertha Revis. She grew up in Red Oak, OK. She married William "Bill" Montgomery in 1946. Together they had three wonderful children; William, her "Baby Girl" Brenda, and Roger her youngest. She worked in real estate, was a bank teller, but her true love was being the owner and operator of Verna's House of Beauty. Those who were waiting to greet her in heaven were: her parents, Clarence and Bertha Revis; her husband, Bill Montgomery; sister, Billie Montgomery; two brothers, John and Daryl Revis; and beloved niece Ona Mae "Tincy" Larive. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children; son, William Montgomery and Kay of Tulsa, daughter Brenda Tharp and Sonny of Glenpool, and son, Roger Montgomery and his wife Lisa of Glenpool. She had three grandchildren; Scott Tharp and his wife Christy of Glenpool, Steve Tharp and Heather of Sand Springs, and Shawn Montgomery of Tulsa. The eight great grandchildren are Lindsey Banks, Hailye, Ashlyn, Ethan, Hayden, Addison, Forrest, and Luke Tharp. She leaves two sisters, Laverne Rogers and Mary Willis as well as two brothers, Osburn Revis and Athel Revis. She has a niece who she loved as a daughter, Shirley Bowen. She also has two step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. A letter to our Precious Momma and Memaw, We want to thank you for all the wonderful memories we have made together over the years. We cherish each and every one. We have laughed and cried together through the good times and the bad. We have faced everything, hand in hand, as a family. It's been so hard to watch you go through this difficult journey. As we sit here today, hearts saddened by our loss, we also know that God has made you whole again. That brings comfort to us. In the early stages, you kept saying "I want to go home". That's exactly where you are now, home with Jesus. We ask two things. First, please watch over us and be our guardian angel. Second, when it comes our time to join you in Heaven, meet us at the gate with arms open wide. Goodbyes are final and since we know we will see you again one day, we will say "See ya later". We will miss you dearly and we love you so very much!
