Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Stanley

Kenneth Wayne Stanley, Sr., better known as K.W., left his earthly home for his new home in the heavens above on April 4, 2015. He was 88 years old. K.W. was born October 5, 1926 to G. A. Stanley and his beloved mother Jewell Sullivan Stanley in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. K.W. married Maxine Louise Hahn in Windfield, Kansas on February 3, 1947. They spent 68 years together through bad times and good. K.W. was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Norma Greeson; and Vicki Houser; and by grandson Timothy Ryan Clements. He is survived by wife Maxine; daughter Karen Clements and husband Don; son Kenneth Stanley, Jr. and wife Candi; grandsons Chris Clements; Steve Clements; J.W. Norman; and Kenneth Stanley, III; granddaughter Nikole Collins; great-grandson Andrew Clements; sister Jeannie Sinor; and brothers Bill Stanley; and Donald Ray Stanley. He was a very prideful man that loved his family and country, which he served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He became a Railroader for the Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroads and also worked for the U.S. Postal Service. The most enjoyment he got in life was working in his yard. That was his favorite pastime and it showed. He always had a great looking yard. K.W. became a Mason and Shriner. He made many van trips taking children and parents to the Shriner Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He will be missed by all that knew him and will never be forgotten. His family would like to thank the many nurses at St. Francis that took such good care of him as well as St. Francis Hospice and Clarehouse. Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Monday and 9 am until 9 pm on Tuesday. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
