Obituary of Ronald Lee Sutterfield

Heaven gained an angel known to us as husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ronald Lee Sutterfield was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father on April 24, 2015 from the comfort of his home. He was born to J.N. and Viola Sutterfield on December 29, 1939 in Sapulpa, OK where he was a lifelong resident. Ron made a career as an aircraft mechanic, working for Rockwell, Composite and then retiring from Nordam. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, whether it was bowling, softball, football or soccer. He was an avid OU fan, enjoyed fishing and hanging out with the guys talking about the good ole days. Ron is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joyce; his children, Sheryl Spurlock and husband Mike; Joe Sutterfield and wife Karen; Mark Sedlack and wife Kashanna; and Debbie Sutterfield; grandchildren, Andrew and Matthew Spurlock; Lacie and Aubrey Sutterfield; Jake Sutterfield; Brett and Kaitlyn Sedlack; Devan and Kyle Clark. He was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Grace and Brayden Clark. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Leslie Peterson and husband Rod; and Carol Eckelberg and husband Danny; his brother-in-law Mark Brooner and wife Sarah; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents J.N. and Viola Sutterfield; son Randy Lee Sutterfield; and two older sisters that passed away at a young age. His love and relationship with the Lord was very important to him. God’s peace and understanding are the things that help bring us through the heartache. Pop you will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We love you! Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home.
