Obituary of Raymond Ralph Douglas, Jr

RAYMOND RALPH DOUGLAS, JR. PARTED THIS LIFE ON Sunday, May 24th at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, E.G. Baker II, and sister, Melinda Tuttle. He was born to Raymond and Ada Katie Douglas on November 11, 1933 of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was retired from St. John Medical Center in Sapulpa. He graduated from Mounds High school and attended Okmulgee Tech, where he studied accounting and commercial art. He was drafted into the army infantry serving in Colorado and Germany for two years. After two years of civilian life, he re-enlisted for 6 years of service, serving in the 1st Artillery, 8th Missile Battalion-Battery D, Okinawa. Raymond joined hands in marriage with Rosa Houston in March of 1992, and spent his life enjoying the past times of visiting family, painting pictures, writing poetry, and participating in Indian leagues bowling for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Rosa, stepdaughters, Carla Pickering, Gail and Brian Stephens, Liane and Matt Harris, and stepson, Mike Houston. Raymond has numerous beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services for Raymond will be officiated by Reverend Barbara Thorne at Green Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery at 10 am on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015. Graveside services will be at the City Cemetery in Kellyville, Oklahoma. Visitation is Tuesday 5-9 pm.
