Our “heavenly” father went to meet his Lord in Heaven at 3:45 PM Wednesday, June 11, 2015. Elmer Lee Ward was born March 27, 1940 to Roy Milton Ward and Mary Etta (Thomason) Ward in Great Bend, Kansas. Roy and Mary had eight children, there was one sister and seven brothers. He married his junior high Sweetheart, Judith Ann Ward (Brewer). In this everlasting loving marriage, two daughters were born; Deborah Ann Ward and Elma Jean Ward and they were married for 60 years.
Elmer Lee Ward worked two main jobs. He worked for Kerr McGee for many years and then went to the Tulsa County Fairgrounds. He worked so hard and long. He retired from both places. He was a very hard worker. On the side, he loved working on and repairing guns for friends and anyone that needed guns fixed. He also made extra money working as a mechanic. He loved spending his free time watching westerns and taking care of his horses.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jean Sallee and Debbie Moore. He has four grandkids; Michael Howard, Jaquita Weldon, Ryan Sallee and Bethany Moore, and is also a great-grandfather of 8.
Elmer was a very special person, who would always try to help all his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone.
