Obituary of Lois Odelle Bishop
Lois Odell Eppler Bishop , 91, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lois was born on July 20, 1923, in Kingston, Oklahoma, to William Clark Eppler and Myrtle Odell Broaddrick Eppler. She graduated from Madill High School in 1941. Lois married Archie Dwain Bishop on May 23, 1949, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where she was employed as a telephone operator. Lois and Archie had two sons, Larry Dwain Bishop, deceased, and Dennis Gene Bishop of Tulsa.
Lois is survived by her husband of 66 years, Archie Dwain Bishop; son, D. Gene Bishop and his wife, Kathryn Glover Bishop, of Tulsa; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Fields of Norman; granddaughter, Christina Joanna Bishop Jackson and her husband, Glen Jackson, of Tulsa; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bishop, of Norman; grandson, Andrew Dwain Bishop, of Norman; great grandson, Leo Fields of Oklahoma City; great grandson, Alex Gene Jackson, of Tulsa; brother, Bobbie Gene Eppler, of Greenville, Texas; sister, Frances Irene Eppler Vaughan, of Mustang; and many nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her parents, William and Myrtle Eppler; son, Larry Dwain Bishop; and siblings, Jefferson Clark Eppler, Vera Virginia Eppler Jones, James Elvyn Eppler, Sr., and Albert Maurice Eppler.
Lois and Archie owned their own business, B&L Auto Supply, in Sapulpa and other towns in Oklahoma. Lois loved to travel and she and Archie took many memorable vacations together. Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa, Dr. Allen Schneider presiding. Interment at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa.
