O. Leon Long passed from this life on August 1, 2015 to be with his Lord in Heaven, at the age of 78. Leon was born April 10, 1937 in Kellyville, OK to Otha Jackson and Maudie Lucinda (Reavis) Long. After high school, Leon served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He married his sweetheart, Janice Minyard, on February 23, 1958. They had 57 years together and their home was complete with the birth of 4 sons. Leon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kellyville. Leon loved his Lord and his church was an important part of his life. After serving in the Air Force, he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed fast pitch softball and played for 20 years. He also played a little basketball while he served his country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with friends. If you entered his living room you could see the evidence of his passion for deer hunting. Leon leaves behind his wife Janice C. Long of the home; sons Ricky A. Long and wife Debby of Sand Springs; Clinton W. Long of Kellyville, OK; L. Jack Long and wife Corri of Kiefer; and Ivan L. Long and companion Amber Cooper of Broken Arrow; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Deloris Adams of Kellyville; and Irene Ford of Wichita, KS; brother Leonard Long and wife Charlotte of Hulbert, OK; and nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents O.J. and Maudie Long; infant brother Garland Long; brothers Loyd Long; Lavern Long; and sister Faye Jean Pritchett. Leon was loved and cherished by his family. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Kellyville, OK. Visitation at Green Hill Funeral Home will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
