Obituary of Joyceileen Standlee

Joyceileen Standlee passed away at her home in Glenpool on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was born February 18, 1931 in Yukon, OK to Everett and Mary Jane Douglas. Joyce lived with her family on a farm in White Oak, OK. She attended White Oak School. After graduating she married Glen Standlee on April 15, 1950. They were blessed with 58 wonderful years together, until his death in 2007. Joyce began her career as a secretary working at Boeing and Beach Aircraft companies in Wichita, KS. In 1971 she and Glen moved to Tulsa, OK and she worked for Byron Jackson Pump Co. until she retired. Joyce loved spending time with her husband Glen and daughter Sherry – Good times were shared while boating, fishing and traveling in their R.V. They built a small vacation cabin on Grand Lake and enjoyed lake living. In 1976 they built a house in Kiefer, OK and for the past 7 years Joyce and Sherry have resided in Glenpool. Joyce excelled at many things. Her greatest accomplishment was playing the piano for the First Christian Church. Joyce was an active person. She enjoyed planting flowers, sewing and cooking. She looked forward to attending Senior Citizens gatherings in Kiefer. Joyce had battled bladder cancer for 10 years. She lost her battle with cancer but won since she is now in Heaven. She will be greatly missed by her church family, friends and family. It is a comfort to know she is at peace, with no more pain, because she is with her Lord and Savior. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the First Christian Church in Kiefer with Aubrey Roberts officiating, burial in Bixby City Cemetery.
