Obituary of Richard Ray Baker
Richard “Ray” Baker went to be with the Lord October, 6, 2015 at the age of 73. Ray was born in Miami, Oklahoma May 29, 1942 to parents Raymond Baker and Norma (Finney) Baker. Ray served in both the US Army and the US Navy. He married Lahoma Moore August 28, 1964. He worked as a truck driver until retiring in 1989. In 1983 he began making homemade knives and could often be found in his workshop crafting them.
Ray loved cracking jokes and making people laugh. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, classic movies, old westerns, and especially those with John Wayne. He liked to read western novels, watch the history channel and national geographic. He went to gun and knife shows, flea markets and antique stores. He collected and sold knives. What was most important to Ray was his family. He liked spending time with them. He set a good example for his family and read his bible every morning. Ray was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Norma Baker. He had a loving family. Those that are left to mourn his passing include his wife, Lahoma Baker; daughter Linda Dobson; daughter Lisa Baker; Daughter Casey Baker; son-in-law Randy Rankin; son-in-law Sean Dobson; grandson Steven Rankin; granddaughter Stephanie Rankin; granddaughter Chloe Wood; uncle Charles Dean Finney; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday, October 12, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
