Obituary of Bryan Keith York

Bryan Keith York was born on December 31, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away, at age 50, on October 10, 2015. He was raised in Sand Springs and graduated from Charles Page High School. Bryan was known as the ”Gentle Giant” due to his size and his caring nature. His physical size was only dwarfed, by the size of his heart. Bryan had a big heart, kind spirit and enjoyed meeting and helping people. He is survived by his wife, Sandee Jernigan York. He was the proud father of two children, daughter, Sarah York Garcia and husband Michael Garcia, and his son, Devon York, all of Caney, Kansas, his mother, Marseilenne Henderson York, sister, Katherine York, both of Sand Springs and brother, Dale York and wife Debra Cowan York of Collinsville, very close friend, Geneva Stewart, other friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Bryan was preceded in death by his father William Edward York and family friend, Everett (Peewee) Austin of Sand Springs. He was an accomplished Outdoorsman with skills and talents for fishing and waterfowl hunting. He made many of his own jugs for fishing. He supplied and cleaned many fish, for family, friends and company fish fries. Bryan spent many enjoyable days on the water, fishing, or waterfowl hunting with his father, friend Everett and his brother Dale. Bryan had a true love for nature, his family enjoyed listening to him share his knowledge about creatures in the wild. Bryan was a wonderful person and will be missed by all those that knew him.
