Obituary of Richard Henry Jones
Richard Henry Jones, devoted husband and father, went home to be with his Lord and Savior October 30, 2015. He was born in Natural Dam, Arkansas on October 17, 1922 to William Alfred and Dora Ruth Brown Jones. On March 23, 1946 he married the love of his life, Cleda Marie Hopkins, and had two children Rodney and Stanley.
Richard attended High School in Cedarville, Arkansas. He entered the United States Navy on October 25, 1942, and served his country in the Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged on March 17, 1946. He worked most of his life in Civil Service; at Ft. Chaffee in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dyes Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, Camp Polk in Leesville, Louisiana. He loved fishing, gardening and talking about the Great War.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Cleda; his parents; son Stanley; brothers and sisters, Earnest Eugene, Woodrow, Jack, Kenneth, Leon, Nellie and Lee Otis.
Richard is survived by his son Rodney and wife Martha, granddaughters Cindy of Dallas, Shandy of Dallas and Suzanne of Owasso; grandson Paul of New York City, great grandsons Robert of Dallas, Garrett of Owasso and Timothy of Dallas; and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Hall Cemetery.
