I wish I had the room here to share all the memories I have of David. He was a lifelong friend that always treated me better than a friend. I'll always remember the last visit I had with him. We laughed, hugged, and said we'd see each other soon. So, Big D, warm up the amps and we'll jam with Jesus very, very soon! I love and miss you, brother!

I did not personally know David but I am close friends with his sister Kim. If David was half the person that Kim is, then I know he was a caring and sensitive and loving person. From what I am told, he was! I wish I had known him though because from listening to everything that was said about him at the funeral, he sounded like someone I would have loved to have been given the opportunity to know! Time will heal your pain but he will never be forgotten! Prayers to all of you in this time of sorrow!

Kim, you asked for memories, well Kenny is not computer savvy, and I'm sure he has more memories of David than I do. So here goes..., Uncle Charles gave Kenny an old car a few years ago, and he still cherish's it. Your sweet brother showed up to help Kenny load it. All I can remember is it was very hot and I was wondering what & why did we need this old rusty car for. I was wondering why this man (David) was drinking HOT coffee on a day like this, it didn't seem to bother him one bit. He was so helpful, in getting that ole car loaded and we chatted for a while. I then realized he was a Hankins, very cheerful, kind, and funny. I asked why he was drinking that hot coffee on a day like today. He said *Oh i do it all the time*. We had a jug of cold water and offered it to him because to say the least ,he & kenny was dripping with sweat lol. He took it gladly! I do regret not getting to know David, living off does have it's disadvantages. I was so very impressed with the service. Your brother, as young as he was when God called him home, he had a legacy that most men can live a life time and not have the respect of their Family & Friends like he did. My prayer is for all his family to have peace & healing and to know David is with the Lord, after all isn't that all of our goal at the end of the day? LOve to you all, Paula

There are so many memories and good times. How do you pick one. We had so much fun in the tractor pulling club with Charlie and David. The "Witch" and the "Warlock". And those community dinners the club had at Hankins garage. David was a good guy and even though he made his living working on cars he would always give you advice for free. I know there will be a big void in your lives. I pray for God to heal your broken hearts and comfort you. RIP David Hankins

My main memory I have of David is a recent one from over the summer one day when it was raining. I had just hydroplaned and ended up in the median and almost flipped my jeep. I was so worried I had messed some stuff up because my car was making weird noises I thought so I called him up and he told me to come right on over to the shop and he would put it on the loft and take a look. He didn't want anything in return and we just talked for a good 30 minutes about stories when him and my dad were younger and about my school and my job. He was such a great guy! He's going to be greatly missed!

I am so sad to hear about David. You are a beautiful family and I know you will hold each other up during the days ahead. I can't believe this has happened, I'm at a loss for words at how sad I feel for all of you. I am praying and thinking of my sweet friend, Kim Barrett. I love you so much and I am just so sorry.
Love,

We know David will be missed so much by those that love him. But our savior has welcomed Him to walk with Him on heavenly streets where he knows only joy, love, and peace. We look forward to the day we will be reunited with him and our Lord in heaven. Our prayers and love go out to David's family.
