Obituary of Lucky Copeland

Lucky Copeland was born on July 16, 1949 to Eva Louise Davis and Paul Copeland in Locust Grove, OK. He passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 12, 2015 surrounded by his family. Lucky served 12 months for our country in Vietnam in the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. For his service he received several medals including a purple heart. He was a Heat and Air installer by trade and an avid 4 wheeler rider in his retirement. Lucky married Quentella on January 25, 1995. They spent 27 wonderful years together. Lucky had five children; Lucky, Jr., Laquita, Donnie, Gwendolyn and Gayla. He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Annie; his mother Eva; sisters Carolyn and Reba; brothers Robert, Carl and H.D.; and his daughter Gayla. He is survived by his wife Quentella; daughter Laquita and husband David, son Lucky, Jr. and wife Melanie, daughter Gwendolyn and husband David, son Donnie; brothers Billy Ray and wife Ruth, Charlie and David; sisters Mary and Francis and husband Bob, who was more of a brother and best friend to Lucky; grandchildren Margaret, Emily, Nathan, Sadie, Jacquie, Daniel, Nicholas, Miranda, David, Haylee, Jacob, and Brylan; six great-grandchildren, Alice, Riley, Tempress, Wyatt, Emmit, and Gwendolyn. He also had the love of many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He was the best husband, dad, uncle and grandpa ever. “He was finer than a frog hair split a million ways!” Funeral Services are scheduled at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is Tuesday and Wednesday from 12-8 pm. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
