Obituary of Dean Carroll Smith

Dean C. Smith, age 82, formerly of Hebron, IN passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Sapulpa, OK. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marilynn Jean (Wise) Smith of Sapulpa, OK; 4 children: Dan Smith (Kathy Sherman) of Valparaiso, IN; Dennis (Denise) Smith of Kouts, IN; Karen Smith of Sapulpa, OK; Brad (Teresa) Smith of Olathe, KS; 4 grandchildren: Levi Branson; Austin Branson; Shelby Smith; and Evan Smith; and 3 great grandchildren: Kenley Gayle Branson; Heidi Mae Smith; and Meila Ruth Branson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Bessie Smith; 2 brothers: Merl and Glen Smith; and his sister: Janet (Smith) Mast. Dean owned Smith Family Farms and retired in 2007 from the Francis Willard Home (Circle of Care) where he was the Maintenance Supervisor. His hobbies included fishing; golfing; basketball; working outdoors; and spending time with his family. He was a former member of Hebron United Methodist Church in Hebron and member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Tulsa, OK. Dean served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1956 and was a member of the American Legion. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Geisen Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 624 N. Main St, Hebron, IN 46341 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Geisen Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Hebron, IN with Pastor Terry Rhine officiating.
