Obituary of Henry Franklin Taber, Jr.

Henry “Bubs” Franklin Taber, Jr. was born on March 25, 1953 in Salem, Missouri to Henry and Ama Alene Taber. On October 27, 1973, Henry married his best friend and love of his life, Dorothy, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Over their 42 years together, the couple was blessed with 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Henry is a Sapulpa High School (’71) and University of Oklahoma (’82) graduate. He was an accomplished and respected engineer and loved to mentor anyone willing to venture into the world of Engineering. Although Henry took pride in his career as a mechanical engineer, his favorite title was “Papa”. He held this position with pride and loved to attend all of his grandkid’s sporting events, dance recitals, or any other activity they participated in. Henry completed his journey with us on January 17, 2016, at Oklahoma Heart Institute, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Presley Taber of Tulsa; daughter Angie Thomsen of Sapulpa and her husband, Jason; son Tim Taber of Jenks and his wife Ashley; grandkids Tristian, Makayla, and Molly of Sapulpa and Ethan of Jenks; sister Abby Bellamy and husband Daryl of Springfield, MO, sister Colene Shuler and husband Gerald of Sapulpa, OK, sister Joylene Taber of Florida, and sister Darlene Wefer and husband Dwayne of Sapulpa, OK. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Taber, Sr. and his mother, Ama Alene Taber, both of Sapulpa. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK. Henry’s longtime friend and brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Enlow will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Henry’s life.
