Obituary of Mark Byron Clark
Mark Byron Clark passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his home in Glenpool, Oklahoma. He was born May 4, 1945 to Carl E. Clark and Jean Claire Healy in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
Mark served 4 years in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and during his 70 years on earth he had around 50 + jobs. He always said that he didn’t want to go to his grave wishing he had done something but didn’t get to do it. His longest jobs were being a Captain in the Sapulpa Fire Department for 12 years and a teacher at Coweta High School for 17 years where he retired in 2009 to help out working in the family sign company.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan Clark of Glenpool, Oklahoma; and 1 son Kevin Clark and wife Shawnda of Sapulpa. Mark has 2 sisters, Melaine Watson of Kiefer, OK and Melody Wideman of Sapulpa; and 1 brother, Jim Murrell of Broken Arrow. He also had 1 grandson, Landon Fagen and 25 nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by both parents; 3 brothers, Rick Clark, Wayne Murrell and Steve Murrell.
Mark’s main hobbies were reading, doing leatherwork, painting and the most important, in his mind, was taking naps.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Church of the Nazarene in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
