Obituary of Mary May Mcguire

Mary May (Jones) McGuire was born August 19, 1920 and passed away May 1, 2016. She was born to Casey and Pearl Jones at Picket Prairie Farmland, Oklahoma. She had three sisters; Ruby Donaldson, Luella Jones and Patty Sue Eldrige, five brothers; Jim, John, Roy, Richard and George Jones. May and her husband Hadley C. McGuire were married for seventy one years before his death January 4, 2007. She is survived by their son Carlos R. McGuire and daughter-in-law Louise (Self) McGuire of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and George Jones of Norman, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Vickey Louise McGuire, Steven Ray McGuire and Sandra June Whidden as well as many great-grandchildren. May was a hard worker and took care of her family in many ways. For many years she raised a large garden and provided family and friends with an abundance of vegetables. She was always there to help in time of need and when her husband became unable to work for a time, recovering from a car accident, she rose to the occasion and took a course in nursing and became a nurse’s aid, supporting the family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The viewing at Green Hill Funeral Home will be Wednesday the 4th from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. The graveside service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 5, 2016, under the Sunrise Cemetery Pavillion.
