Obituary of Velma Lea Staley

Velma Lea (Sorrell) Staley was born October 8, 1935 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Bill and Minnie Mae Sorrell. She passed away May 3, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at St. John Medical Center. Velma was a long-time resident of Kiefer, Oklahoma. She enjoyed word games, needle point, crocheting and arts and crafts. She was a Christian and worked in the nursing field. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Capehart; and Seth Staley; her parents; and brother Norman Sorrell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory son Roger Capehart and wife Billie of Kiefer; son Joe Capehart and wife Brenda of Kiefer; son Tom Capehart of Kiefer; daughter Connie Staley; son Jerry Staley and wife Stacy of Jacksonville, AR; grandchildren Bryan Capehart, Steve Capehart, Chase Capehart, Sandan Capehart, Trey Capehart, Casey Friend and Daryianne Churchwell; great-grandchildren Dylan Capehart, Spenser Capehart, Brock Capehart, Bailey Capehart, Carlos Capehart, Cayle Capehart, Carley Capehart, Cashlyn Capehart, Cruz Capehart, Jayden Friend, Brianna Churchwell and Atticus Capehart; great, great-grandson Nickolas Capehart; brother John Sorrell; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 5, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
