Obituary of Gilbert C Henry

Gilbert C. Henry, age 69, passed away at his home in Bowden on Monday, May 23, 2016 and went to be with his love. He had lived in Bowden for the last 45 years. Gilbert was born December 15, 1946 in Marion, Indiana to parents Wilber Eugene Henry and Elisabeth (Carl) Henry. He left Indiana and headed to Oklahoma and joined the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing and playing cards. He worked for the City of Tulsa as a mechanic, working on Police cars and many other vehicles at the main garage. After working his way up he ran 5 different shops as a supervisor until he retired at the age of 46 due to his health. He was happy to live his life with the love of his life, Phyllis Henry, who passed away 13 years earlier. Now both have been reunited in death. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Mann and husband Frank Mann, Jr.; his sons Richard Henry; and Jeremiah Henry and wife Marlana; grandchildren Olen Mann, Sr. and wife DeShonna; Margarett Henshaw and husband Justin; Michael Mann and wife Sasha; Carol Fletcher and husband Brandon; Jacob Collier; Zach Henry; and Abi Henry. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Mann; Destiny Henshaw; Miranda Mann; Gabriel Henshaw; Olen Mann, Jr.; Brandon Mann; Serinity Henshaw; Thomas Mann; Jeremy Mann; Asher Henshaw; Elisabeth Mann; Donavon Mann; Landon Mann; and Guy Fletcher; as well as brother Von Henry and countless nephews, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Jean Henry; brothers Milford Henry; Wilber Henry, Jr.; Keith Henry; and one great-grandchild, Baby Mann. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Thursday from 11-8 at Green Hill.
