Obituary of Martha Joy Kirkwood

Martha Joy Kirkwood went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 75. She was born August 20, 1940 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Beulah Lowery. Joy married Harold “Cotton” Kirkwood on October 7, 1956 in Sapulpa. They were together for 52 years. Joy was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Cotton” Kirkwood; her son Harold Jr. “Boy” Kirkwood; mother and father Lloyd and Beulah Lowery; 5 brothers and sisters, Marie, Bobby, Norma, Nancy and Gene; and great-grandson Taylor Miller. Joy is survived by two daughters, Carletta Johnson and husband Allan of Sapulpa; Kim Roberts and husband Mike of Grove; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie (Johnson) Roberts and husband Kyle of Sand Springs; Johnathan, Ashley and Kaitlyn Johnson of Sapulpa; Amanda (Roberts) Cox and husband Scott of Noel, MO; Stacey (Roberts) Lane and husband Clint of Southwest City, MO; Kasey (Roberts) Johnson and husband Kevin of Stillwater; Jordan Roberts of Grove; 6 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kameron Roberts, and one on the way, of Sand Springs; Mattison Jackson, Tatum Miller, Elijah Cox and Ryan Cox of Noel, MO; Stason Lane of Southwest City, MO; 7 brothers and sisters, Willie, Johnny, Jerry, Shirley, Madilyn, David and Darla; and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones and friends. Your journey has come to an end here with us. But we know that you are in Heaven reunited with the love of your life, while watching Boy jump up and down with excitement and kissing Taylor’s hands. You will always be in our hearts until we see you again. We love you Mom. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 17, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
