Obituary of Lahoma Whorton

Lahoma (Bookout) Whorton was born in Warner, Oklahoma on December 28, 1934 to parents Alfious “Fatty” and Grace (Thacker) Bookout. She went to be with the Lord July 18, 2016. Lahoma was raised and completed high school in Warner, OK. On October 8, 1955 she married John Whorton and the couple was blessed with 3 daughters; Lynda, Sharon and Jonnie Sue. The family settled in Tulsa where Lahoma worked as a neonatal unit secretary at Saint Francis Hospital for 14 years. She enjoyed spending time with her 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, gardening and caring for those around her. She had a great capacity to love, she cared about everyone she met and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She had a kind and giving soul and has been described by people as their “Angel Lahoma.” She taught her family to always be polite, to respect people and to be grateful for what they have. Lahoma loved her family completely and wanted them to always remember that they were loved. Her family will miss her greatly but will always hold the love they shared in their hearts.
