Obituary of Arthur Eugene Davis
Arthur E. Davis was born March 2, 1936 in Springdale, Arkansas to Elijah Monroe Davis and Fannie Lee Sexton-Davis. He married Margaret M. Shelton on August 17, 1955 in Bristow, OK.
Arthur is preceded in death by his wife Margaret; parents Elijah and Fannie Davis; 4 brothers, Ira, Hermon, E.J. and Bill; 3 sisters, Hazel, Dorothy and Ruby; son-in-law Steve Henson; and granddaughter Tasha Henson.
He is survived by 4 children, Marcia Bradley of Sapulpa, Regina Henson of Bristow, Clifton Davis and wife LInda of Okemah and David Davis of Sand Springs; 9 granddaughters, Missy, Mandy, Taylor, Somer, Lisa, Chloe, Stephanie, Shannon and Jessica; 2 grandsons, Justin and Elijah; 9 great-granddaughters, Paiden, Samantha, Lauren, Caity, Clarissa, Emerie, Raegan, Zoey and Anna; 10 great-grandsons, Eric, Dawson, Caleb, Aiden, Jaxon, Coltn, Gage, Kaiden, Lane, Levi; 2 great, great-granddaughters, Marley and Everly; 2 sisters, Mary Gillis and Betty Shelton.
Arthur was employed the majority of his working life as a welder. He worked in Custo-o-Fab, J.F. Thermal and various other shops in the Tula and Sand Springs area. He prided himself in the young welders he helped get started in their own careers. He retired from Architectural Metal Craft, where he had traveled across the United States installing Custom built stairways and handrails for high rise facilities.
He attended various Pentecostal Churches though out his life. He always enjoyed Gospel Singings. He was very fond of the “Friday Night Gospel Music Group” that came to Arbor Village, where he spent the last few years of his life. He enjoyed many friends he met there and liked playing Dominoes.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is scheduled from 1-8 pm Tuesday at Green Hill. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
