Obituary of John Lewis Walker

John Lewis Walker, Sr. was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas on February 7, 1924 to James Nelson Walker and Katie Gertrude (Gollaher) Walker. John served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He married Juanita Clovalee Dennis on August 12, 1944 and the couple was blessed with four children; Anita Marie, Marsha Louise, Sandra Elaine and John Lewis Walker, Jr. The couple was married for 65 years. John was reunited with his beloved wife when he was called home to Heaven on August 28, 2016. John was adopted into the Dennis family when he married Juanita. This family was a special blessing to him. John was the owner of HillBilly BBQ, where he was known as Hillbilly John. He retired in 1982. He liked going to the Casino and playing Bingo. He spent a great deal of time reading his Bible and enjoyed playing the guitar, but his favorite way to spend his time was with his family. John loved his family and enjoyed every minute spent with them. His right hand buddy for the last six years was his dog, J-Bo. John was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Walker; daughter; Anita Walker; and parents James and Katie Walker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory daughter Marsha Bevenue; daughter Sandra Carter and husband Wayne; son John “Louie” Walker, Jr. and wife Rhonda; grandchildren Sarah Pinson; Lori McCauley; Chris Bevenue; Jentry Carter; John Walker, III; Jordan Walker; 14 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Christy Lynn Walker for the time she spent helping with the services. Funeral Services are scheduled at 10:00 am Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is on Wednesday from 1-8 pm.
