Obituary of Bertha L Fallaschek

Bertha Louise Slief Fallaschek passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016. She was born October 6, 1929 in Oklahoma City, OK to Floyd Leo and Mary Josephine Rohkar Slief. Bertha attended John Carrol Elementary and High School, the parish school of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral in Oklahoma City. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. After college she married Paul Joseph Fallaschek and they made their home in Oklahoma City, Chicago and Sapulpa. She gave life to five children: Richard Anthony, Teresa Louise (Knode), John Mark (d. 2012), Maria Kay (d. 1964), and Tracy Marie (Dunne). Her grandchildren include Ann Marie Knode, Elizabeth Kateri Knode, Joseph Matthew Fallaschek, Eric Colbert, Timothy Joseph Fallaschek, Mary Josephine Dunne, Lucy Cecilia Dunne, John Anthony Dunne, Clara Jane Dunne, and Peter Joseph Dunne and one great-grandson, Lucas Charles Davis. Bertha was preceded in death by her son, John Mark, her parents Floyd Leo and Mary Josephine Slief and her sister, Marilyn Slief-Morales. Additionally she is survived by her siblings Leo Floyd Slief, Joan Herndon, Carole Dowling Lee. Bertha was a homemaker however she also worked as a secretary for Safeway Grocery Stores and receptionist at the Tulsa Garden Center. In her free time she enjoyed reading, tole painting, making flower arrangements for church and playing bridge with her siblings. A Visitation and Rosary Vigil will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sapulpa at 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 27 and a Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11am on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Charities of Tulsa or your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the staff at Aberdeen Heights Assisted Living for the wonderful care she received the last 10 months of her life.
