Obituary of Edward Raymond Genay
Edward Raymond Genay was born August 18, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to William and Rita Genay.
Ed attended Disney and Columbus Elementary schools, Foster Middle School and graduated from East Central High School in 1988.
Ed held a Bachelor’s degree in Business, but his specialty was people, especially his family.
His life’s devotion was to his children, Jacci and Aaron. Ed was very dedicated, dedicated to his children, his family, his friends, who thought they were family, his church, his many businesses… Not only in words, but in action.
Ed was well known for his trademark smile and blue eyes, but he will always be remembered for wanting the best for everyone. He would debate everything from politics, to football, UFC, cooking styles and cars. It seems his knowledge was not limited to things you could only learn in a book, but, in the end, no matter how long the debate or how intense the argument, you knew, Eddie wanted the best for you.
He never met a stranger and within minutes, that stranger would know Jacci and Aaron by name. That stranger would know that Ed’s family is from Philly and his brothers are the best… at everything, floors, to fishing, to the engineering mind, or the sandwich king… and Maria had to marry a marine, because a weaker man couldn’t have made it with all her brothers.
He bragged on his dad, Bill, about his toughness and his work ethic, his unmatched skill as a painter, and we all knew Ed loved strong and fierce women, like his mother, and especially his choice for red heads.
Eddie’s spirit went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016, but it’ll take a lot longer before people let Eddie pass away.
Ed is survived by his father, William Genay of Claremore, and his mother, Rita Genay of Verdigris, his daughter, Jacquelyn "Jacci" Genay, and son, Aaron Genay of Sperry, his sister, Stephanie Coletta of Philadelphia, his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Kim Genay of Philadelphia, his brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kitty Ewing of Philadelphia, his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Isabel Genay of Tulsa, his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Michelle Genay of Verdigris, his brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Shannon Genay of Catoosa, his brother-in-law and sister ,Chris and Maria Shook of Claremore, his brother and sister-in-law, Jacques and Claudia Genay of Verdigris, his nephews; William Welsh, Michael and Jerry Albright, Alex, T.J., Stephen & Nycholas Genay, Pablo Castro and great-nephew, Jaxon Albright, his nieces; Macey Shook, Chloe and Brianna Genay and great-niece, Morgan Welsh, his step-children: Jessie, Josh, and Jennifer Smith & Jamie Cates of Sperry, his Uncle Frank and Aunt Lisa Grimm of Texas, and Uncles Bob and Ed Genay of Florida, Aunt Michelle Grimm of Florida, and many cousins.
