Obituary of John Edward McClain
John "Big John" Edward McClain was born September 29, 1939 and passed away September 30, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John was born in Bixby, Oklahoma to Jasper Ezra and Theda Cordie (Bullock) McClain. He had a brother, Wayne, and two sisters, Marhcetia and Phyllis.
John was a family man, proud Papa, who loved bragging about his grandkids. He loved the outdoors and spent hours in the garden and a treestand. Many mornings you could find him in a boat on Keystone Lake with his fishing buddies, Jim-Boy and Virgil.
He and Mary McCall were married June 26, 1965. They were married 50 years and had three children, Monique, John, and Kerri.
He had six grandchildren, Kandice and Kammie McClain, Tyler, Josh, and Emily Thresher and John Wayne McClain. He had one great-grandchild, Kaydence McClain.
He played football for Bixby High School and later became a member of the United States Air Force. John was a welder, a farmer and owned Lil Sprouts Plant Farm for 8 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis McClain and his son John Wayne.
