Obituary of Earnest Eugene Smith

Earnest Eugene “Gene” Smith of Langley, Oklahoma was born in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Leo Smith and Dorothy Mae (Rogers) Smith on February 28, 1946. Gene went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2016. Gene attended and graduated from Mounds Public Schools. He married Glenda Lee Crumbliss on March 5, 1966 and the couple was blessed with 4 children. He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting and auto racing. He is survived by his wife Glenda Smith of Langley, OK; daughter Dawana McNutt and husband Mark; son Steve Smith and wife Regina; Shannon Smith; Lisa Smith Copeland and husband Wayne; grandchildren Kyle Campbell, Kayla Smith O’Brian, Ashley Rodgers Sowder, Tyson Smith, Trina Smith, Kevin Smith, Nathan Copeland; great-grandchildren Kaylee Campbell, Kagen Campbell, Madyson Smith, Mylee O’Brian, Bentley Campbell, Calen Sowder, Sydney Copeland; as well as many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Dorothy Mae (Rogers) Smith and brother LeRoy Raymond Smith. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mounds, OK.
