Obituary of Karen Sue Speck
Karen Sue Speck was born June 1, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Marshall and Virginia Hill. Karen married John W. Speck Jr. on July 27, 1974. They had 3 children; Shannon Gail Harris, Kelly Anne Alexander, and Michael David Speck.
Karen loved her family unconditionally and fixing meals for everyone was a great passion of hers. She always put plenty of thought into what everyone liked to eat. Cooking was special to Karen and she was very good at it, not only the food, but she enjoyed the utensils and choice of dishes just as much, because they had special meaning to her and used them quite often, even though some were very old. John would joke with her saying, “looks like they came over on the “Mayflower.” Christmas was her favorite time of year, she loved Christmas trees, and only a real one was allowed in her house, Christmas lights and ornaments were very special to her as well.
She treasured bunko games and spending time with her friends. She loved craft fairs and going to the War Eagle craft show. She enjoyed her job and the friends she had there. As soon as you met Karen, you knew she was a good and caring person.
Karen loved life and loved her husband. They adored going places like the mountains, Seattle and seeing the beautiful Pine trees. Karen always would soak up the beautiful scenery everywhere she had the opportunity to visit.
Karen is survived by her husband, John W. Speck Jr., her children, Shannon Gail Harris, Kelly Anne Alexander and husband, Jeremy Alexander, and Michael David Speck, her grandchildren, Johnathan Harris, Jessica Alexander, Jamison Alexander, Madison Alexander, Katlyn Alexander and Mackenzie Alexander, one brother, David Holford and wife, Karen Holford and one sister, Judy Osten.
