Obituary of Mildred L James

Mom loved going to her grandkids band competitions and concerts…which all three were in during their school years. Mom was also in the Sapulpa High School Marching Band. She played the snare drum. Every now and then mom would break out her drumsticks and tap out a beat on whatever surface was handy at the time. Mom also passed down the love of arts and crafts, classical music, opera music and funny shows down to her children and grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren are showing signs of the talent she passed down. Mom loved her “funny shows” as she called them, namely, the Big Bang Theory and her English shows which aired on the BBC channel late in the evening. She would tape the English shows and watch them over and over again. I don’t know how many times she would come find me in the house, wherever I was, and have the biggest grin on her face and try to tell me about what she found so funny…but had a hard time talking because she was laughing so hard. She also enjoyed watching things like debates and politics. For the life of me I don’t understand why because she would often get disgusted by something someone said and would go on and on about it. Mom loved and cared for her family both in life and in death. She was strong in her beliefs and her will. We love you Mom and miss you and will be with you and Dad again one day. Services are scheduled at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is 11-8 on Wednesday.
