Obituary of Tommie Jean Acton

Tommie Jean Acton was born on April 26, 1952 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Jack and Jean Taylor. She received her angel wings at 2:03 PM Sunday, November 6, 2016. Tommie attended Wilson School system from 1st grade through 10th grade. She was a member of the Wilson Baptist Church where she attended faithfully with her parents and sisters. Tommie met her future husband Bruce Acton Jr. at Wilson School when they were both in Jr. High School. They were married on August 10, 1968 in Schulter, Oklahoma at four in the afternoon, so as not to interfere with a baseball tournament being played that weekend. They were married for 48 years, much to most people’s surprise. Tommie leaves this earth with the legacy of two sons, Bruce Acton III and his wife Cyndi, their children stepson Brandon Whitman, Kendra Acton, Jacob Acton, and Makena Acton. Carles Acton and his wife Leslie with children Chelsea, Madalyn, Paiton, and Carson. Tommie also has two great-grandchildren, Landon and Ellie thanks to Chelsea Acton and her fiancée Taylor Easton. Tommie is also survived by her husband Bruce Acton, II, mother Jean, two sisters, Sharon Green and husband Ed, and Lou Ann Henderson, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as cousins and friends from all over the world. Preceding her in death was her father Jack Taylor, her grandparents Barkley Neal and Flora MaeTaylor and Leo and Ethel Haley. Memorial Services will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at FAITH Church (just south of Glenpool Okla. On Highway 75), with speakers Jack Vance, Suzie Stephens, Jason Cowen, and Bruce Acton III.
