Obituary of Sylvia S Walker

Sylvia S. (Harry) Walker of Mounds, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord December 19, 2016 at Saint Francis Hospital, at the age of 66. Sylvia was born June 29, 1950 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to parents Simon Harry and Nancy (Barnett) Harry. Sylvia worked in the dry cleaning industry and was active in the Euchee Culture. She served as the Chairman for the Festival Board and the Vice Chair for the Community Center. She enjoyed going to the Ceremonial Grounds for Stomp Dances and sharing her Euchee culture with her family. She was baptized as a child at the Rock Creek Methodist Church when she was young and later attended Pickett Chapel. The most important thing in her life was her family. She had 3 sons and one grandson. She loved spending time with all of them. She liked to spend the weekend with her grandson Ace. She was a very caring and nurturing person. She always put others before herself. She like to cook and if anyone showed up at suppertime she always had a plate ready. Her family loved her and will miss her very much. They will remember her love and care for them and cherish the memories made together. Sylvia was preceded in death by her mother Nancy Jo Harry; and nephew Jonathan Harry. She is survived by son Phillip Moore and his wife Marsha; son Clint Walker and his wife Tristan and grandson Ace; son Cody Walker; father Simon Harry; brothers Zeek Harry, Randy Harry and Bobby Harry; sisters Charlotte Tiger and Bonnie Antelope; adopted sisters Cindy Tiger, Lucinda Barnett and Cecelia Whitman; and many other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are scheduled at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Morning Star with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held at Morning Star at 7:30 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and visitation will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm Tuesday.
