Obituary of Oliver Henry Pierce
Oliver Henry Pierce was born in Charleston, SC on December 30, 1918. He went to be with Jesus on February 7, 2017. Papa, as he was so fondly called, lived in Sapulpa, OK from 1991 until his death. He served in four branches of the United States Military Services; Navy, Coast Guard (during World War II), Army Air Corps and the Air Force. He retired from the Air Force and then worked for the Civil Service until age 62 with 41 years of Military Service.
He married the love of his life, Henrietta Elizabeth Busch, on July 26, 1941. They had six beautiful children; Kathleen Henrietta Sherrill and spouse Buddy of Sapulpa, OK, Oliver Gary Pierce and spouse Leveta of Murrells Inlet, SC, Larry Busch Pierce (deceased) and spouse Mary of Bastrop, TX, Wayne Robin Pierce and spouse Norma of Port Royal, SC, Roland Edmond Pierce and spouse Joyce of Moore, OK and Clay David Pierce and spouse Stacy of Sapulpa, OK. 21 Grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Henry Pierce and Mae McMichale, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, his wife and one son. He has three living sisters Elizabeth Kornahrens, Bessie Mae Blois and Martha Morris.
Papa was a member of First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
Papa had a big family. His family was the most important thing to him. He loved and cherished every one of them.
Services are at First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2017.
