God gave me a wonderful Big sister that I loved very much...her name is Pat
But he also gave me "another" sister closer to my age...Janet (who is my niece)
From our teen years "on"...she was not only my niece, extra sister...but most of all...my best friend.
We shared everything!!! Thoughts, dreams, laughter, joy, heartbreak...everything.
We had our special fun time together in my Mustang making our regular fun runs to Quicks, Pizza Hut and when we were brave...to Hollies We enjoyed each other's company, laughter, sharing private thoughts. We had so much fun driving around with the windows down and singing loud with the radio blaring. (Sometimes we would meet up with Danny also and drive around) Those are times I will forever hold dear in my heart!!!
When I first got my Mustang Janet would call and say "you want to go get a Drink at Charcoal Oven"? I'd say sure and Go by and pick her up. She always was able to get enough money from her Dad if she said she was going with me. However, she always wanted to make a stop at 7-11 first to get "something else" (I'm sure you can figure out what it was) So, when we would pull up to order I'd ask what do you want and she'd say "I don't have any money now" (with a sad little face lol...she could always talk me into things that way!!) so I would give in and buy her drink. That is until ....it became such a regular habit, one time I just ordered a drink for me cause she "chose" to spend her $ on something else and my TG&Y job didn't pay much and I had to pay for gas too!! We talked and laughed about that time a LOT!!! Awesome memories. We would pull over to our special place to park at charcoal oven, away from everyone else, and talk forever!!!
I have all those wonderful
Memories to hold onto and treasure forever!!
But most of all.....I am going to miss our LONG "2 hour plus" phone calls that we had over the past 10 years or so...which always began with "Retha, (pause) this is Janet"
I feel so blessed that I was able to spend 2-3 nights with her when she was in the hospital before she went to Leah's. I treasure those times even though it was hard to see her like that...I was blessed to minister to her and love on her!!
But....I KNOW where she is now and I KNOW she will "meet me at the Gate"!!! (Maybe with a Dr Pepper lol)

(And everyone else who knew and loved Janet can see her again too. Just make sure you "know" the Father and He "knows you by name" then we can all be together again!!!)
