Obituary of Thelma Lolla Pickering

Thelma Moss Matney Pickering Thelma Moss Matney Pickering, 84, of Sapulpa passed from this life on Friday February 17, 2017 at Hillcrest hospital in Tulsa. She was born February 16th 1933 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Ransom and Gertrude (Youngblood) Moss. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, her twin Wilma Smith, Stella Gray, Wanda Clark, Nancy Thorpe, Dixie Adney and Linda Moss.. As well as eight brothers, Chester, Clifford, Veachel, Dean, Ronnie, Doug, Hurvell, and Troy Moss. Also one granddaughter Kari Leigh Matney. She is survived by two sons, Roy and Jack (Kay) Matney, 1 daughter, Brenda (Mike) Dotson. Six grandchildren, Angela Matney-Cooper, Cindy Yarnell, Shelly Ortiz, Jim Sasson, Jerrika Rovang, and Dusty Dotson. Nine great grandchildren Dayden, Shalom, Sera, and Ransom Yarnell, Nicholas Cooper, Marlie and Khole Rovang, and Rayanna and Addyson Dotson. Her sisters Shirley (Harold) Gibson of Sapulpa, and Randie (Eric) Clark, Brothers Lonnie and Kenneth (Carla) Moss all of Bristow. Many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and long time friend Tony Varnell. She lived in Sapulpa most of her life and retired from Zebco where she worked for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crafts, sewing, Native American Art, her pets and spending time with friends and family. Visitation will be at Green Hill Funeral Home from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd. The Funeral will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, February 23rd at Dripping Springs Baptist Church 24543 West Highway 33, Sapulpa with Pastor Greg Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa. Pallbearers will be grandsons Dayden Yarnell, Nicholas Cooper, Dusty Dotson, and nephews Tony Escoe, Ronnie Moss and Keith Moss.
