Obituary of Dorothy Vinita Schulte
Dorothy Schulte, born December 15, 1917, found her wings on June 7, 2017. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lynn Watkins and Son-in-Law, Samuel Watkins, Jr., of Newalla; granddaughter, Elysia Hinkle and husband Mel Hinkle of Midwest City; and many nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Leonard Schulte, parents Izora and J.E. White, brothers Warren and Edward White, sisters Alta May White and Wilma Morris; and grandson, Nathan Watkins.
Dorothy worked as a hairdresser during World War II when she met her husband and married him two weeks after their first date. She continued styling hair out of her home until she retired in the 1980s. Dorothy had many interests. She loved reading, watching birds, lively basketball games, Wheel of Fortune, and Julia Childs. She always enjoyed talking with people and was so happy when people came for a visit. She loved Jesus and read her Bible every Sunday, all day, even though she couldn’t make it to church. She was a bright light in this world and Heaven is brighter because of her today. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 9-10 am Saturday, prior to her service. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 400 E. Teel Rd. 9182242312
