Obituary of Loren Don Ness

Loren Don Ness passed away June 6, 2013, at his home following a short illness. Don was born May 5, 1938, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Loren S. and Mildred Burr Ness.

Don grew up on an oil lease farm in Keifer, OK. In 1956, his family moved to Tulsa, where he attended Will Rogers High School. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University.

Don married his high school sweetheart, Johnna Lee Moore on July 24, 1959. That same year, he went to work for National Cash Register (NCR) and was located in Bartlesville, OK. Don and Johnna later relocated to the Tulsa NCR office. They lived in Tulsa and Bixby until Don’s retirement in 1993. Don then opened his own business, MeritFinancial, continuing to service bank machines in a 50-mile radius of Tulsa until 2000. After retirement, he and Johnna lived in Sapulpa for several years before relocating to Wake Forest, NC.

Throughout his life, Don developed many special friendships and touched many lives with his stories and the jokes he told. 

Don is survived by his three children, Glenn and Kathy Pribbenow of Lawrence, KS; Scott and Steffanie Ness of Wake Forest, NC; and Randy Ness of Victorville, CA; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Maynard.

A Life Celebration and Remembrance for both Don and Johnna Ness will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, 10:30 a.m., at the Green Hill Funeral Home, 400 East Teel Rd., Sapulpa, OK.
