Obituary of Edward Dale Swayze
Edward Dale Swayze was welcomed into the world by parents Andrew Jackson and Polly (Lucas) Swayze on July 29, 1942. He went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2017 at the age of 74.
Edward was born and raised in Okemah, Oklahoma. He played sandlot baseball for the Okemah Braves. He went on to play minor league professional baseball for the California Angels. He spent many years working at Lake Country Beverage, the RC Cola Plant, as a night supervisor and later worked at Fibercast in maintenance. His recent years were spent in Redbud Village in Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Polly Swayze; sisters Lucy Wilbourn, Mary Robbins & Anna Dearman; brothers LeeRoy Swayze & Forrest Joseph Swayze; daughter Tammie Swayze; and great-granddaughter Danielle Gray. He is survived by daughter Teresa Blankenship and husband David, son CJ Ash and wife Holly; son Richard Ash and wife Amanda; son George Ash and wife Jamie; son Doug Swayze; son Eric Swayze; grandchildren April Hilburn, Heather Najera, Matthew Blankenship, Roy Sean Ash, Andrew Ash, Katelyn Ash, Tyler Ash, Josh Ash, Joel Ash, Hannah Ash & Dakota Swayze; brothers Dolen Swayze, Bobby Swayze, Dwayne Swayze & Jerry Swayze; sisters Geneva Vigil & Sue Ramsey; as well as many more relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 11:00 am Friday, June 30, 2017 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Floral Haven Cemetery. Visitation is at the Green Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 1-8 pm. The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312 www.greenhillok.com
