Obituary of Floyanne Coursey

Floyanne (Porter) Coursey, known to friends as Annie, of Kellyville went to be with the Lord July 4, 2017 at the age of 69.  She passed away at her home with her husband Elmer, step-daughter Sandra, friend Susan and her 3 puppies by her side.  She put up a valiant fight but lost her battle to cancer.  She was born in Oklahoma January 24, 1948 and her family moved to California where she attended school and graduated from Antioch High School.

Annie loved her husband, Elmer, and the Horse Ranch as well as going to the races.  She lived in Oklahoma, Washington, Massachusetts, and California. While living in California she was married and had son Jacob Moore.  Annie served in the U.S. Navy, in Alameda, CA in Intelligence.  She worked as a Flight Attendant for American Airlines, taught painting at Hobby Lobby and would make gifts for friends and family.  She was Past Matron for the Eastern Star Hope Chapter in Muskogee and Wagoner.  She was active in the theater in Wagoner and played Truvy in the “Steel Magnolias” at the Wagoner Playhouse.

Annie was strong in her faith – steadfast in her beliefs and did not fear death.  She loved the Lord.  She was very active in Job’s Daughters until she was 20; where young ladies are groomed in public speaking, teamwork, the arts, charity and respect.  She was also a majorette in high school.  She readily made friends and enjoyed life with family and many cousins.

Annie loved life and all of God’s creations.  She loved her family and her friends.  She had a big heart and lived up to her feisty red hair (with a stubborn streak thrown in for good measure).  She was a ray of sunshine – a force of her own.  She was loved by so many people and will be missed by all who knew her.

Annie is survived by her husband Elmer Coursey; son Jake Moore and wife Jennifer of Wagoner; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 15 cousins, nieces, nephews and daughter Sandra Pinkley and husband Bill of Broken Arrow.

The family wants to thank New Century Hospice – especially Barbara Cherry, Reecee Buggs-Wallace and Jill Donohue.  Their care and compassion made this difficult time easier for the family.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at South Heights Cemetery.  The family has entrusted the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312/www.greenhillok.com
