Obituary of Clinton Shane Summers
Clinton Shane Summers was born December 27, 1988, in Brownwood, Texas to Mahlon and Toni (Self) Summers. They moved to Tulsa in 1989 and then to Owasso in 1995, where he attended and graduated from Owasso Public Schools in 2007. Clinton began working at Valmont Industries, where his father worked. Following that he began working at Urgent Care of Green Country. At the time of his death he was employed as a machine operator at Harsco at the Port of Catoosa. He was proud and excited of his plan to start at Tulsa Technology Center's Welding Program in January, following in his father's footsteps. He was taken from this life on October 11, 2012.
Clinton was a very loving and personable young man. While in school he was voted "best smile" and his smile could light up the room. He loved his family, especially his four younger brothers; Colby, Caleb, Conner, and Colton. Clinton had many, many friends and was always the life of the party. He loved to dance, listen to music, go to the movies, attend concerts, and draw.
Clinton was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas Jayhawks. His fondest memories include attending a Jayhawks basketball game in Allen Field House with his father, and a KU vs. Mizzou game at Arrowhead Stadium. Clinton also attended a 30 point KU basketball victory over OU, and was at the KU thumping of Nebraska football game at Memorial Stadium.
Clinton is survived by his parents, Mahlon and Toni Summers, his brothers; Colby Summers, Caleb Summers, Conner Summers, and Colton Summers. His grandparents; Joann Howard, Mahlon and Katie Gray, and Linda Stanislaus; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and girlfriend Lindsay Gowin.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Orvel Self and Jerry Howard, his aunt Becky Bryant and his cousin Gavin Gibson.
A Celebration of Life for Clinton will be held at the First Christian Church of Owasso on October 17, 2012 at 11:00 am, with the internment at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
The family of Clinton Shane Summers would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone for all of the heartfelt thoughts, prayers, expression of condolences, food, flowers, and all other acts of kindness and friendship shown during the loss of this special young man. These acts will not be forgotten.
