Obituary of Catherine L. Turnbull

Catherine L. Turnbull passed to Heaven from The Gardens Nursing Home on November 13, 2017.  She was born June 12, 1921 in Bristow, Oklahoma to John and Grace Wineinger.  Her family later moved to Oklahoma City, where she finished her schooling and graduated from Central High School in 1939.

A short time later she met the love of her life and she and Kenneth L. Turnbull were married a year later.  That union, built on the premise that family is central to happiness, flourished for fifty-nine years.  Their marriage was blessed with three children, six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.

Everyone knew that Grandma’s house was where Sunday dinner was served.  Catherine had many hobbies but none so important as cooking for her family and friends.  She loved her dogs and cats and friends and books.  She found humor in everything she did.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Turnbull in 1999 and her firstborn son Kenneth R. Turnbull in 2011.  She is survived by sons Richard Turnbull of Sapulpa, David Turnbull of Tulsa, daughter-in-law Linda Turnbull of Tulsa; grandchildren Patrice, Matt and David Turnbull; Holly Hamilton, Robert Turnbull and Kitt Letcher; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2017.  The family has entrusted the services to Green Hill Funeral Home.  918-224-2312 / www.greenhillok.com
