Our precious Jack - Husband, Father, Gramps, Brother, Uncle and Friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was born on September 12, 1924 in Santa Rosa, California as the oldest of three children to Leslie and Iolene Fahrner. The family lived mainly in Keosauqua, Iowa where Jack graduated from high school and then served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 on the Secretarial Staff of the Corps VII Headquarters. Jack studied chemistry at the University of Iowa where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1949, and was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He continued his Masters studies at the University of Oregon in Eugene where he taught Chemistry as a Graduate Assistant. Jack started working for the John Deere Chemical Company in 1952 and was transferred to Pryor, OK in 1957 where he met the love of his life, Rose Marilyn Walton. Jack and Marilyn were married in Tulsa on August 23, 1958 and had two children, Bruce and Leslie. The Fahrner family was transferred to Dallas, TX in 1968 where they resided for 30 years. Jack became the Vice President of Finance for Nipak Company which manufactured fertilizers, plastic pipe, explosives and thermal energy. The family was active in the local Methodist Church where Jack served as an usher, and Boy Scout Troop Leader. Jack`s most treasured life events were always centered around his family, camping, hiking, water and snow skiing, visits to Aggieland and traveling. Touring the U.S. in his RV with his beautiful wife, and traveling/cruising the world with his wife, sister and her husband were some of Jack`s special memories. He also treasured time as caregiver to his two grandchildren, Alexis and Ronny, and traveled as far as Australia to be with them. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia. Jack is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Bruce and his wife Laurie, daughter Leslie, granddaughter Alexis, grandson Ronny, and sister Betty Fahrner Hart. Jack and Marilyn have been members of the First United Methodist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma since moving here in 2000.
