Obituary of Theodore Heath

Theodore David Heath Jr., Age 57, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, born to Theodore and Edna Louise Heath in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Affectionately known as "Heatie" and yet known to others as "Ted' O" passed away on November 13, 2012 peacefully in his sleep. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on November 24, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 412 North 7th Street, Sapulpa, OK. Pastor Henry L. Busby of Mount Olive Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at New Bethel Cemetery, 231st between Mounds and Beggs. Visitation will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 at Greenhill Funeral Home, 400 East Teel Road Sapulpa, OK Funeral arrangements are being handled by Greenhill Funeral Home. Heatie graduated from Sapulpa High School and attended several trade schools, before beginning his professional journey, as one of the first African American males to be employed by City of Sapulpa as a fireman. He also worked at Liberty Glass for many years before moving to San Jose, CA where he worked as a Lead Technician for IBM until his retirement. He returned home to Oklahoma until his departure. He loved and adored his family and friend and enjoyed spending time bar-b-queuing, watching sports, and enjoying life to its fullest! He leaves to cherish his memory; a son, Teon Kendrick, two daughters; Atari Heath, and Jana "Pooh" Baker-Coleman, two brothers; Sammy Heath and Gary Smith, four sisters; Vinita Smith, Rhonda Starks, ShaRon Mills, and Marla Heath, five stepchildren; Orlando and Angella Douglas, Jamell, Jerry, and Jermaine Crawford, two grandchildren; Janaye and Jordan Coleman, a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends. Heatie is preceded in death by his loving parents, Theodore Heath Sr. and Edna Louise Heath.
