TO THE FAMILY OF ARTIS PHILLIPS: Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. I was saddened to learn of Art’s passing. I was googling his name and his obituary popped up. I worked with Art at DHS and was his Unit Clerk. He retired in January 2004. Art was a fun-loving man and a joy to be around and was kind and considerate to others. I remember when Art sported a beard for a short period. He was handsome anyway and I thought he still looked good with the beard but the beard didn’t stay very long. I have pictures boxed up somewhere in the house with him with and without his beard. Art loved his family and was thrilled when he talked about his grandchildren and always looked forward to going to Texas to visit them. About a year after Art retired, he came to the office to visit. He told me his email address but I didn’t write it down and later tried to remember it. I regret not doing so. I miss my friend. Although it’s been over two years since his death, my condolences and prayers are still being extended to the family. May the fond memories you hold dear bring a smile to your face and lighten your heart in the years ahead. Much love, Brenda Shaw-Morris

He was a loving person and my very best friend I miss him so much. I think about him everyday and I know he was going through pain at least the pain is over I love you Art may the lord be with you. We all miss you and your funny sense of humor I love you!

Art was a great man of God a man whom my husband and I spent much time visiting with. We originally met him while he was working at Faith Church many years ago and we quickly became very good friends with him and his wife. He will be truly missed. God gained a Great Man. We love you Art.
