James Norman Hurt was born on November 16, 1955, in Henryetta, Okla. Norman went to be with our Lord on November 24, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Norman, as he was called by his family and friends attended school in Mounds, Okla. Norman worked at Liberty Glass in Sapulpa for 15 years where he was an I.S. Machine upkeep and on the job change crew. He also worked at Atwood's and Bartlett Collins Glass in Sapulpa until his retirement. He was involved with the CB Club in Mounds in his early years. His call handle was "Rug Rat 3033." He was an avid participant in the Mounds Turkey Shoot for many years and never missed a season. He loved fishing and teaching his many nieces and nephews the art of catching fish and turtle hunting and how to cook. Norman never had children of his own, but called all of his nieces and nephews his own and loved them dearly. He loved going to all the sporting events, school activities and he taught many of them the art of shooting pool. Norman was also a very good story teller to all of the children and they would listen for hours to the stories he had. Norman's greatest joy was his parents and he loved them dearly. Norman was loved by so many and will be missed by all who loved him. He has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior; he will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten.
