Obituary of Robert Elton Hay, Sr.
Robert “Bob” Elton Hay, Sr. of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed away from this life January 14, 2018. Bob was born December 6, 1938 to Elton and Letha (Rose) Hay in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Bob graduated from high school in 1958 and moved to Tulsa to learn to lay carpet. He was drafted into the Army in 1962 and was stationed in North Carolina. There he met the love of his life, Frances “Gene” Heistand. They moved back to Tulsa in 1967 where they were married on July 12, 1967.
Bob enjoyed raising show hogs with his son. He loved working on race cars, watching car races, sports and westerns on TV. He also enjoyed hanging out at the shop with his good buddy, Vernon.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Elton and Letha Hay, his loving wife Gene and his brother Ernest Hay. He is survived by his sister Joann Byford of Duncan, brother Jimmy Hay of Duncan, children Robert Hay, Jr. and wife Michele of Sapulpa, Donnie Finkbiner and wife Rhonda of Kiefer, daughter Donna Cook of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren Wes, Ross, Andrea, Scotty, Kimberly, Nicolas, Jeremy, Dillion and Scott, great-grandchildren Brindle, Johnny and Beonca and his very best friend Vernon Payne.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 2:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2018 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 pm on Thursday, January 19th. The family has entrusted the services to Green Hill Funeral Home. 9182242312
