Obituary of Jay Wright

J.D. was born in Tulsa, OK on July 19, 1969 to Eva Jaelene Wright and Joe Dale Wright. He passed away on December 27, 2012. He is preceded in death by his biological father Calvin Roberson, his grandmothers Florine Campbell and Nellie Wright, grandfathers Delbert Wright and Jay Frank Womack, and aunt Betty Volpicella of Redding, CA. He is survived by his mother Eva Jaelene Wright of Sapulpa and stepfather Ronnie Joe Sharp of Tulsa; Sister Lisa Lyles and husband Wayne DeGraffenreid of Sapulpa, sister Shelly Earnest and husband Dustin Earnest of Alva, OK.; Stepbrother Wade Sharp of Tulsa and stepsister Nikki Sharp of Mannford; Fiancé Lindi Wiggins and daughter Celeste Grace of Tulsa; Aunts, Glorine Wilson of Kellyville and Norma Jay of Haskell; Uncles, Tom Wright of Haskell, Jim Wright of Bixby and Jerry Wright of Tulsa; Cousins Amy Wilson of Tulsa, Tommy Cobb of Porter, Doug Russell of Haskell, Kenny Russell of Coweta and Johnny Russell of Haskell; Nieces Paige Lyles, Jordan Lyles and Madelyn DeGraffenreid of Sapulpa and Siera Earnest of Alva and nephew Stanton Earnest of Alva. J.D. also leaves behind life-long friends, David Waters, Martin Salazar, Johnny Bohlander, Darren Ramsey and many others. J.D. grew up on the Westside and attended Park Elementary School, Clinton Middle School and Webster High School, where he was involved in wrestling, baseball and football. He was proud to be a Westsider and let everyone know it. J.D. worked in the construction and manufacturing/fabrication industries. He always had a smile on his face. He was often times called the "class clown" because he was always cracking jokes and acting silly. The one thing you could count on with J.D. was that he could always make you laugh. He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed attending and watching the OU games with his family and friends. Fishing and camping with his family and friends were also things he greatly enjoyed. He loved his mom, who was devoted to him through thick and thin. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephew. He was a great babysitter to them when they were little. Part of the reason he got along so well with kids, was because he was a big kid himself. He was a huge lover of animals big and small. He was always bringing home stray animals to care for, or snakes to chase his sisters around the house with. The only exception was spiders! He hated spiders and every time he saw one, he just knew it was a fiddleback. J.D. loved his family, especially his beautiful daughter, Grace. She was the light of his life and now he can be her Guardian Angel forever.
