Roy Elwood Michael October 3, 1930 - January 21, 2013 Roy Elwood Michael, 82, of Tulsa, passed into eternal life on January 21, 2013. He spent many enjoyable hours at the lake on his boats. Roy had a lifelong love of planes, especially the Corsair which saved his life during the Korean War. The dominos, fishing, golfing, travelling, card playing and Jazz music will be in the family and friends hearts forever. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on October 3, 1930 to Nathan E. Michael and May E. Michael. His childhood years were spent in Sapulpa. As a young boy he served as an Eagle Scout. Roy graduated from Sapulpa High School and earned his B.S. Degree in marketing from the University of Tulsa. Roy joined the Marine Corps Reserves in Tulsa and served in the Korean War with the "Able Company". As one of "The Chosin Few" he earned two purple hearts and a combat V medal, with five major battle Stars. He was employed for the City Service Oil Company in Bartlesville, OK. for ten years and retired with over 20 years of service with Williams Pipeline. As a proud member of the Marine Corps he travelled around the country to reunite with his "N.E. Chosin Few" buddies for annual reunions. He also was a local member of the "Frozen Chosin" attending monthly meetings, breakfasts and participating in many events such as the local Veterans Day Parade in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his second wife Pat London-Michael of Tulsa. He is survived by first wife, Mary Minor Disiere of California and daughters, Jo Beth Force and husband Ed, of Kellyville Oklahoma; Kevan E. Michael-Godwin and husband William Godwin of Las Vegas, Nevada; Stepson, Jeff London and wife Darnelle of Welches, Oregon. Grandchildren: Melissa Valentine, Whitney Force, Angela Marino, Christi Godwin, Chelsi Noble, Josh London and Nicholas London Great Grandchildren: Emilie Valentine, Blake Valentine, Gunnar Jack London and Tony Marino In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to John 3:16 Mission in memory of Roy Michael or donate online to john316mission.org/home.php Simper fi
