Obituary of JOSEPHINE PYLE

Josephine B. Pyle was born January 29, 1925 and passed from this earth on March 26, 2013. Josephine was born to Jess and Beulah Brown in Mounds, Oklahoma and had lived in Mounds all of her life. She attended elementary and high school in Mounds and graduated from Mounds High School in the class of 1943 and was a member of the Mounds First Christian Church. She was one of two children. She married Kelly Pyle on April 3, 1943 and they enjoyed 54 years together until his death in 1997. They had one son, Raymond Pyle. Josephine was a member of the Mounds Historical Society and was the Treasurer for the Mounds Cemetery Association for many years. She was an Elder in the Mounds First Christian Church. Josephine worked as a Time Keeper for McDonnell Douglas for over 30 years. After her retirement she enjoyed China painting, traveling and the occasional trip to the Duck Creek Casino with her friends. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Pyle, her parents Jess and Beulah Brown, her sister Bernice J. Brown and her half-sister Donna Burgess of Broken Arrow. She is survived by her son Raymond and his wife Mary of Mounds. She is also survived by a half-sister, Gwen Witherspoon, of Norman, OK and her loving grandchildren, Leigh Ann Stout, Big Lake, TX and Jess Pyle and wife Laurie, Tulsa, OK. She is survived by six great grandchildren; Chance Stout of Talequah, OK, Cade Stout of Big Lake, TX, Bryce Pyle, Ally Pyle, Mason Pyle and Madyson Pyle all of Tulsa, OK.
