Obituary of MARTHA DAVIS

Martha Jean Davis passed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the age of 77 years. Martha Jean was born April 1, 1936 on Heywood Hill to Sam and Ruth Cox Tanner. She was raised in Sapulpa, graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1956. She married Sammie Ralph Davis on March 5, 1960 in the home of Reverend Marion Reynolds in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Two daughters were born, Joy Dawn and Nancy Jean. Martha Jean had many interests in life. She loved going to the lake, fishing and making flower beds and gardens. She loved mostly being with her children and grandchildren. Martha Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie, her parents, Sam and Ruth Tanner, her great-grandson, Noel Grant Esmond. Martha Jean is survived by her daughters Joy Dawn Neal of Bristow and Nancy Jean Jones of Bristow. Grandchildren: Sammie Leigh Davis, Kacey Davis and Jessica Jones, Russell Esmond, Heidi Chin, Robert Neal, Amanda Neal and Jocie Gray. Great-grandchildren: Zoey, Gregory, Aiden, Xzavier, China and Colton. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Tanner and wife Robbye of Tulsa, sisters Virgie Tucker and husband Richard of Sapulpa, and Janice Tanner of Mounds. She is also survived by her best friend Mike Ledgerwood of Sapulpa. Funeral Services will be held at Green Hill Funeral Home of Sapulpa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 with burial in South Heights Cemetery. Visitation with family will be held 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and general visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
