Brian David Grogan, born March 21, 1947 in North Adams, MA, passed unexpectedly into the arms of the Lord on June 19, 2013. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Aurie Grogan, and his brother, Gary Grogan. A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Brian served his country honorably in Southeast Asia during the height of the Vietnam Conflict. He loved sports - especially his Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, and OU Sooners. However, his favorite sporting events were always those in which his children and grandchildren participated. Brian was an active member of his community and church, serving on and chairing many boards and committees through the years, including serving as a president of the Jaycees and Rotary. Brian was honored as a Top 10 President of the Jaycees and received the Distinguished Service Award and was also a JCI Senator. Brian love to travel, especially with his children and grandchildren, and had the distinction of having visited all 50 states. He was always happiest when surrounded by his family. Brian was a kind man, a good man, a fair man and a loyal man. He will be missed by many. Brian is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda, his daughter, Stephanie, his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Cindy, his granddaughters Samantha and Kennedy, his brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Lisa, several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Sarah Baby. A viewing will be held Monday, June 24, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Green Hill Funeral Home, 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa, OK. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at Jenks First United Methodist Church, 415 E. Main Street, Jenks, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in memory of Brian and in honor of his beloved granddaughter, Kennedy, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 601 S. Boulder Ave., Suite 1300, Tulsa, OK 74119.
